Girls just wanna have fun

We had some Get Well balloons given to us over a month ago when Cady hurt her leg. The girls were getting a big kick out of them on Friday.

Kindermusik, Christmas Party, and Santa

Yesterday was a busy day. Cady’s Christmas party for school was yesterday (we are on break until the new year, time to break out the crafts) and Hadley’s last day of Kindermusik for the session was also yesterday. Both are important events to me, so I didn’t want to miss either. Luckily Jason had a personal day he needed to take before the end of the year, so he decided to spend the day with us.

After we dropped Cady off at school, we rushed to Kindermusik. We’ve really enjoyed this session. First, the other parents and kids are just a great group. It makes it so much more fun if there is a fun group of people to spend that hour with. All the kids are right around the same age, so it is fun to watch them together. And the parents are just really fun folks. We hope to have most in our class next year.

I was able to capture some shots during drum time.

Hadley and her buddy, Conway, sharing the drum so nicely.

After Kindermusik and some lunch, we headed back to Cady’s school for the Christmas party.

We made all her friends and classmates cute little goodies (inspired by a Pinterest idea, of course)

They had so much fun at the party. Lunch was Chik-Fil-A, which is always a winner. They made a couple of really adorable crafts and were just wild and crazy 3 year olds.

Cady was sad to leave because she is going to miss her friends and her teachers so much over the next couple of weeks. I can’t say enough how much we adore Ms. Kelly and Ms. Vicki. They are pretty much the best ever.

After naps, we decided to go pay Santa at the mall a visit. I was hoping by going on an off day at an off time, we might be able to miss the crowds. I was right! One group was in front of us. We didn’t have to wait long at all. I wasn’t sure how Hadley would react, but I was very prepared for her to cry. She did not disappoint.

She would cry, stop, look at Santa, and cry some more. It was hilarious. Poor little Pork Chop. I think I can get one more crying Easter Bunny picture, and our crying days are likely over. Hadley will probably be a huge Santa fan by next Christmas.

It was a fabulous fun filled day!

Christmas Program 2011

Cady’s Christmas Program at school was last night. I’m pretty sure I live for these. A bunch of little kids ages 1-5 on stage, dressed super cute, singing sweet songs, and being freakin’ hilarious? I’ll take it!

Before we left the house I had to get some cute pics of the girls. I love their dresses so much. I’ve had them in the closet since September and have been itching to get them in them.

While we were waiting for the show to start, Hadley could not be contained. Jason and I took turns chasing her around. She was a walking machine

Action shot!

And just a shot of the back of her dress

And a video. This is her “Super Hadley” move

Then it was show time.

Cady coming in

Lilly, Cady and Parker

And the three Amigos. Brooklen, Lilly and Cady

How cute is this one?

And now for the videos. I can’t explain the comedy show that was put on. Cady and Lilly were cracking me up the whole time. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I didn’t get too many of their antics on video. It would seem they behaved and performed perfectly with the shots I got. I missed the exhibitionist moments (why, oh, why did I not put bloomers on under Cady’s dress?). And I JUST missed the eye exams with the electric candles. Crazy kids.

Hadley E. Walkerson

Yesterday Hadley was a walking machine. And man, can this girl scoot! She’s quick. I put slippers on her and I think she might have like the sound the grippies made on the hardwood. She just walking in circles.

And this one is just her being silly. After she slips, check out that dirty look I get. Like I pushed her or something. HA!

12 Months

Happy 12 Months Hadley Elizabeth!

I’m a little late on this post. We traveled back to Arkansas on Hadley’s actual birthday, so I wasn’t able to post then. I did get her sweet little picture before we left. So I am back dating this post for my own reference.

Hadley is a bit of a contradiction. She is a shy girl. She is timid and definitely takes her time getting to know anyone. But I don’t know that I consider her introverted. She is emotional and has a definite temper, and she definitely lets people know it. She isn’t as laid back as Cady was at this age.

We discovered, during our trip to Arkansas, that she isn’t the best traveler. I’m not giving up on her yet though. She did much better driving home than she did going to. So I’m holding out hope that she will get better with a little experience.

She started walking this month! She seems to do things a little out of order with everything though. She was crawling (or her version of it) before she would sit up on her own. Now she walks, and she is all over the place, before she is able to stand on her own. I definitely learned to just let her figure it out and not stress about it during the crawling thing, so I know that she will get it soon. So I don’t consider her a full time walker, but any day now.

I don’t have any stats because I haven’t even scheduled her 12 month appointment yet (Meep! Gotta get on that!). We had a wonderful birthday party for her back in Arkansas and I will be writing that post up right after this one and scheduling it for tomorrow.

I really am in awe that this year has gone by so fast. Hadley has just brought so much joy into all three of our lives. I love every day better than the last because of Cady and Hadley and their interactions. I don’t know which adores the other more.

We love you, Hadley Elizabeth!
