Cady is 4!

We celebrated Cady’s 4th birthday on Saturday.

We threw a party for her at her dance studio. I asked Cady several times what she wanted as a birthday theme. The only thing she requested was a pinata. So I had full control of Cady’s party for probably the last time. I chose a “Candy Land” theme. Thanks to Pinterest I found TONS of cute ideas to use.

My friend Angela designed some awesome invitations once again (Save the Date Originals). She actually made it really difficult because she designed three invitations that were perfect, so I really struggled with choosing just one. Here is what I decided on (with personal info blurred, of course).

We are lucky enough to be a part of a great dance studio and we were able to use some space there for the party. It was a great blank canvas.

With a candy/sweets theme, you have to have a candy buffet, right?

I made candy coated popcorn, cake pops, and then turkey rollups and pinwheels to have something not candy related. We also had Skittles, cupcakes, gummy bears, rainbow Twizzlers, Sour Patch Kids, and Jolly Ranchers.

The cupcakes turned out so cute. I love the little toppers. I got them and the favor stickers from Etsy. I don’t recommend the shop I got them from, but they are adorable.

Favor/Gift Table

Favor Buckets.

Inside was a pinwheel, a big rainbow sucker, a rock candy sucker, sidewalk chalk, a coloring/activity book, crayons, a slinky, a punchball balloon, an ice cream shooter, and a toothbrush ๐Ÿ˜‰ TONS of good stuff

Several of Cady’s friends have little brothers and sisters, and I didn’t want to leave them out. They got a little goody pack with a coloring book, crayons and rainbow Goldfish crackers

I also set up a little backdrop area to take some pics of the kids.

We had a bean bag toss, a ring toss, Pin the Horn on the Unicorn, and of course, Cady’s pinata. Unfortunately, I didn’t get pictures of either the Pin the Horn on the Unicorn or the pinata. Kind of sad about that.

Had to get some shots of the birthday girl before the party started

As always, Becca did such a great job on her shirt. She took a few different things and put them together to make it exactly what I wanted.

We also grabbed a couple of family pics before the party started.

The kids decorated gingerbread people.

They ran around and played with the balloons.

The pinata was a hit (even with no pictures). Cady said it was her favorite part of the whole party.

Blowing out her candle

My favorite part of the party were the super sweet friends

Sweet baby sister was there too

Cady didn’t have all the fun. Hadley’s buddy, Grayson, came with his big sister, Charlotte. Hadley also wanted to invite her buddy, Harvey.

It was such a fun time with so many of our favorite people!!! Thank you friends and Happy Birthday, Cady Cupcake!!!

Happy 15 Months sweet Hadley Elizabeth!

I couldn’t love that precious little face any more. I can easily say that this age is one of my favorites. She learns something new and fun every single day. And I just don’t see how she could get sweeter. She is such a little lovebug.

She is such a good little talker. She has tons of words. Please is a favorite because she knows it gets her things. And really it is almost impossible to resist those big blue eyes when she said “Pweese?” I’m such a sucker.

She is becoming such a little person. She is my little helper. She will drop everything and literally come running if I am emptying the dishwasher. It is the biggest treat for her to get to help me with it. She also loves to help with the laundry like her big sister did.

Hadley is slowly coming out of her shell. We had a few weeks there where things were almost painful because of her shyness and stranger aversion. But she seems to be slowly overcoming it. That is a huge difference between Hadley and Cady. Cady has never had a moment of shyness.

On that same note, I signed Hadley up for the Pre-School Prep program at the same school Cady attends. Starting in September she will attend one day a week. I think it will be very good for her to have an opportunity to socialize without me around. I am nervous about her transition, but I do know it is the best thing for her.

I will be taking both the girls to the pediatrician soon for their 4 year and 15 month appointments, so I should have measurements soon.

We love you, Hadley Elizabeth.

Happy 48 Months Cady Cupcake!

I don’t know what it is about this age that is making me more sentimental than usual, but I am. Four Years Old. That just seems SO BIG. I can’t believe I have a 4 year old. An awesome 4 year old. A smart, hilarious, sweet, loving, adorable 4 year old.

We’ve had a low key birthday day. Daddy is out of town ๐Ÿ˜ฆ so it is just us girls. This morning I woke up at Cady’s birth time, 5:15 (it was just coincidence, really). I decorated Cady’s door before she woke up.

She loved it! It was hilarious to watch her groggily run back and forth through the streamers (video on facebook)

I offered to take her to get donuts for breakfast, but she said she would rather just have cereal here. So special birthday cereal it is. Her friend, Rylie, isn’t going to be able to make it for her party, so we met her and her mommy and baby sister for lunch. And she is now taking a special birthday nap (HA!)

I love doing these little interviews because I know I will love looking back on them in the future. So 20 Questions to ask Every Year:

1. What is your favorite color? Purple

2. What is your favorite toy? Strawberry Shortcake (she had just opened a gift of a strawberry Shortcake toy minutes earlier)

Cady-isms

Cady has been so full of hilarious conversations recently and I don’t want to forget any of them. She seriously has me cracking up constantly.

Cady: Daddy, you are going to be Flynn Ryder when we play Rapunzel.

Jason: How do we play Rapunzel?

Cady: You stand here and I hit you in the head with a frying pan.

Jason: I don’t think I will like being hit with a frying pan.

Cady: You just have to pretend to like it.

While helping me pick out a Valentine card for Jason

Cady: Momma, get him that mad one. (a stick figure on the front of the card had a mad face drawn on)

Me: I don’t think I want to get Daddy a mad card. I love him.

Cady: But that’s the face you always make at him

Jason was in Tulsa for business

Cady (out of the blue): Mom, why is Daddy in salsa?

Me (only half listening): What? Why is he where?

Cady: Salsa

Me (fully listening, but confused): What?!?

Cady: Why is Daddy in salsa?!?! You know! With Uncle Ben?!!?

Cady: You remember that time I was with Nana and PawPaw John because you weren’t taking care ofย  me?

(We were on vacation, not just NOT taking care of her)

:Singing “Brown Eyed Girl with the radio:

Me: Cady, this song was written about you.

:singing some more:

Cady: MOM! I am not a one eyed girl! I have two eyes!!!

She is so hilarious, y’all. And this is only what I can recall right now. These have all been within the last couple of weeks. I’ve got to start doing this more often because she just cracks me up.

One Year Ago Today: Happy Valentine’s Day

Fishy Face

Hadley is a little Monkey See, Monkey Do right now. She loves to mimic words and sounds and especially what people are doing. Cady actually taught her this trick, I think. I think her little version of the fishy face is adorable.

I have lots of updates that I will be giving you guys for the monthly posts. These girls are just changing so much. And someone has a big birthday coming up! We have so much going on right now! Hopefully I’ll have a chance to post about it all soon.
