3 Months

Happy 3 Months Hadley Elizabeth!

She is no longer a newborn. Doesn’t she just look so grown up 😉

She is getting so big. Literally. She is in size 3 diapers now. She is wearing 6 month+ clothing. She is my roly-poly Porkchop. She is eating 6-8 ounces every 4-5 hours.

Hadley is doing great on all her milestones. Her neck control is really good.

She is sleeping really well. I’m not going to say she is sleeping through the night because every time I say that she doesn’t. But I will say that I am usually very pleased with her sleep habits.

Now comparison pics:

Ha! You can tell how much more of a chunk Hadley is than Cady.

We love you Hadley Elizabeth!

Happy 36 Months Cady Cupcake!

3 years old. I can’t even believe it. I think back on 3 years ago and just how much she has grown. It seems like a completely different lifetime. Hadley makes it a little easier to remember what Cady was like 3 years ago, but I still just marvel at the changes.

I love looking back at these monthly pictures. Seriously, do you think she will still let me take these when she is 13? I made a little collage of the past year

I don’t know if it the big sister role but I really feel like she became such a little girl right around 34 months. Looking at these pictures she just looks so much older and more mature in that picture.

I cannot wait to see what the 3’s will bring. I registered her for pre-school today. She will be in the same school, but the program she is currently in is just considered Mother’s Day Out. Beginning in the Fall she will be an actual pre-schooler with a curriculum and everything. I know she will do wonderfully because she is ridiculously smart.

She goes for her 3 year well checkup tomorrow. I will try to remember to update this post with her stats.

Cady is just the most incredible little girl. Every single day with her, even if it is the worst day, is such a joy with her.

We love you Cady Cupcake!!!!

Cady’s 3rd Birthday Party

When we decided what to do for Cady’s birthday this year we were looking for something a little different. I think I researched pretty much every available option in this entire Metro area. Seriously. We decided to stay close to home at a little cooking school near our house, Chefs 2 B.

Cady loves to help in the kitchen. She loves to pretend to cook. So I figured this would be a great option.

So I made some adorable invites

And that was about it. The cooking school handled everything else.

We arrived and the kids had hats and aprons to decorate

Cady and Kendall

Charlotte, Rylie and Kendall

I’m not sure what Cady is doing in this one, but you can see her really adorable birthday shirt (Too Cute Creations)

Then the chefs split the kids up into two teams. Team Cupcake and Team Icing. Team Cupcake, which consisted of Cady (of course), Logan, Kendall and Kate, were responsible for making the cupcakes. Team Icing, consisting of Charlotte, Rylie, Jaiden and Lilly, were responsible for the cupcake icing. Then all the kids made their own personal pizzas.

Team Cupcake waiting for direction

Team Icing washing their hands

I thought Cady looked way cute in her special chef’s hat and apron.

Team Cupcake had to make the batter. The first job was to break the eggs into the dry ingredients. Cady did a great job… I think all the shell was picked out 😉

Kendall’s turn

Logan giving it a try

Kate was getting direction on putting the milk into the mix

It was also Cady’s job to add the sour cream to the batter (Yeah I know how that sounds but they turned out pretty good)

I loved this pic because you see Kendall’s and Kate’s little heads peeking over the counter

Kendall, Kate and Logan had to mix the batter up really good.

Then it was time to spoon the batter into the baking cups

After the cupcakes went into the oven the kids got the opportunity to taste the batter (isn’t that the best part?) Cady was a fan. Kendall was not.

I really meant to take more pics of what Team Icing was doing but it was hard to keep up with both groups. But I did catch the best part for them too. They were getting icing squirted in their mouths! Jaiden looks like a little baby bird here.

Then the kids got to roll out the dough for their pizzas

Time to add toppings.

Sweet Logan just waiting his turn like a good boy

After the pizzas went in the oven Team Cupcake peeked in on the cupcakes

Logan was telling Chef Tim that he was hungry and was not super convinced that he could make it until the pizzas were done.

Then it was time for them to make lemonade

The pizzas and cupcakes came out of the oven and it was time to eat.

They decorated the cupcakes

And we sang “Happy Birthday”

We waited to open gifts until we got home. Cady is a blessed little girl. Not for the gifts she got, but for the friends who gave them. Thank you all for coming and celebrating with us!

What was Hadley doing during all this? Chilling with the gifts!

Blogging Break

I hate to say it but I think I am going to take a little break from the blog for a little while. I’ve been thinking about this for a little while now for several reasons.

One is that it is becoming not fun. I feel like certain things I write are getting picked apart by people and causing more problems than they are worth. I write this blog mainly for me. It is my version a scrapbook or a baby book for the girls. It has just been an added bonus that our family and friends could keep up with us this way too. I don’t write it to please anyone. I don’t write it impress anyone. It is our real life.

But my main reason for taking a break is I just don’t have the time or energy to devote to it like I have in the past. From the moment Jason walks in the door after work I feel like it is a whirlwind of dinner, playing with the girls, bath and bedtime. 2 hours later when it is all said and done we feel like we haven’t talked and we are exhausted. We take that two hours to spend time together and actually talk about our day rather than on the computer blogging. I also don’t take near the amount of pictures I used to. I take pics with my camera phone but it is rare that I have my real camera with me wherever we are in the house.

I do plan to do the monthly posts for sure. If there is an important event I will try to blog that. Beyond that I’m not sure I will do much else for a while. I hope that soon our evenings aren’t such a rush and aren’t so chaotic. But until then don’t expect too much in the form of random posts for quite a while.
