ABC’s and 123’s

Yesterday morning Cady was in the mood to perform. She kept singing her ABC’s. So I figured I might actually get to catch it on video. Well, she was definitely ready to show off. We’ve got a medley of her ABC’s. She thought she might do the Itsy Bitsy Spider, but no such luck on that. I got her to (kind of) count to 20. We did “Mary Had a Little Lamb” which was the nursery rhyme of the month at school. And I almost caught her newest trick on camera, counting in Spanish.

Dance Class – Week 5

Just some more pics from dance class this week

They did something new this week. They did this circle thing

They used scarves. Cady reverted back to Kindermusik and put hers on her head immeadiately.

And then they did a sort of free dance. Miss Bri would play some music and then stop it and they had to freeze. They were adorable and all the girls were having so much fun! I don’t actually know where Cady is in this picture LOL

I am just more and more impressed with Cady every week. She is loving class and is thrilled to go. She does so good and is really learning things, I think.

32 Weeks

And 32 weeks with Cady:

How Far Along: 32 weeks. Less than 55 days from meeting this little girl. So excited.

Size of baby: I had a dr’s appt today and she is 5 lbs already. The ultrasound tech commented about how long her arms and legs are and she said she had a “big ‘ol belly” LOL. According to the baby websites, she is the size of a jicama, whatever that is. But they also say she should be about 4 lbs. I don’t know if jicama’s get as big as 5 lbs. But we’ll pretend.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +27 lbs

Maternity Clothes: Mostly maternity clothes

Gender: We got definite confirmation today that she is a girl. She wasn’t being lady like at all this time and crossing her legs. She gave us a very good shot at her little booty so we could check

Movement: She is a squirmer. She moves a lot. She is head down and super low. She has pushed all the fluid over to the left side of my belly and so her movements on the right can hurt quite a bit because I don’t have any fluid to protect me.

What I miss: Bending over? Not really, but I am reaching the point where it is becoming harder and harder to get comfortable

Sleep: Other than getting up to use the bathroom a million times a night, I am actually sleeping pretty well.
Symptoms: Nesting. I am cleaning and organizing like a mad person. I did this with Cady but it was several weeks later
Cravings: Chocolate milk

Best Moment this week: Even though we didn’t get any pictures (she was facing my back and covering her face with her hands) I am thrilled that I got to see her again. Just that extra confirmation that she is growing (very well obviously) and right on track is so nice.

What I am looking forward to: Just the next few weeks of having her inside still. I know it’s going to go faster than I imagine. She is going to be here before we know it.

Just a couple of cute pics

I don’t have anything to write about. We’ve pretty much done nothing all weekend. Well, I say that. I’ve done a lot this weekend. I’m definitely nesting. Big time. But for the most part, as a family, we just hung out and watched some football and chilled. Love weekends like this!

So since I don’t have something exciting to write about I just have some random pictures that don’t really go with anything else.

Cady is on a roll with using the potty. One technique that has worked for us is a potty prize for poo-pooing on the potty. We just went to the Dollar Store and stocked up on trinkets and toys. Basically a bunch of crap that is going to annoy me as it is left all over the house 😉 But it has worked to get Cady on board. I do think we are going to try to phase out the rewards for using the potty though, when all of these are used up.

Daddy was helping her with one of her prizes. I don’t think she quite got the idea of how it actually works to blow up her beach ball.

And this is just a plain cute one. A friend of mine made this hat for Cady. She is trying to grow her Etsy business a little and is making a facebook page to get the word out a little more. She asked some friends that have her products for pictures wearing them. So this is Cady’s hat from Bitter o’Clock (Etsy page here and Facebook Fan page here)

That’s all I’ve got. We have dance later this morning and I *plan* to take my camera. Plus tomorrow I will HOPEFULLY have some ultrasound pictures from my dr’s appt. Hope you have a great Monday!

Show Us Your Life — Master Bedrooms

Kelly’s Korner is doing her “Show Us Your Life” series again. And again she is doing the home tour. I decided to play this week because my master bedroom is one of my favorite rooms of the house.

Most of these photos are old, but nothing has changed except the bedding we *just* got.

This is the view from the entrance to our bedroom

LOL at teeny baby Cady in the floor. That shows you how old these pictures are.

Our bedroom set was out first big purchase as a married couple. We lived together before we were married, but we lived like a couple of college kids. We had a bunch of mismatched furniture that were hand me downs from our parents.

So this bedroom set was the first big decorating collaboration we had. We got it from Rooms To Go and I’m still thrilled with it. I think it really fits our contemporary style but is pretty classic at the same time.

One thing we loved about this house when we first looked at it was that the master bedroom connected to one of the other bedrooms. I think we both saw the potential for the perfect nursery. The open doorway on the left is the entrance into the nursery.

It was the perfect spot for Cady her first year and I know it will be the same for the new baby. Now what we will do after the first year or so is yet to be seen. But we will figure it out. We may be installing a door there so there is more privacy available for everyone.

This is the view from the nursery

The tulip print is probably one of my favorite things in my whole house. I found it on SUPER SUPER sale at Target one day. The color and style fit in perfectly with our room and tulips just happen to be my favorite flower and our wedding flower.

The lampshades and lamps we found at Lowe’s one day just out of the blue. They also just sort of fell into our laps but were exactly what we were looking for. The sconces on the walls are from Target. When we lived in Tennessee we just had two of them. After we moved into this house we felt we needed something more than we had on the walls. Luckily Target still had them in stock so we bought a couple more sets.

In the couple of years since these have been taken the only thing that has changed has been our bedding. We received the above bedding as a wedding gift. So this year for my birthday I asked for a new set.

This is what I came up with:

Robot Dance

Ok this video isn’t the best because of the way the light comes in our bedroom. And Cady’s improvised robot is way better than when she is actually watching Dance-A-Lot The Robot. But this still cracks me up. Especially around the 1 minute mark

Dance Class: Week 4

We missed out on dance on Monday because Miss Cupcake was sickly(ish). She was definitely feeling much better yesterday and even went to school. So today we decided to hit up a different dance class for a makeup.

I was a little concerned for a few reasons. Cady is only 2.5. Dance is technically for 3 and up. Sandy, who is such a blessing to us, allowed Cady and some of the other Kindermusik kids that she has known for years now to join since she knows that they can follow directions. We all pretty much joined the same class, so for the most part it is a younger class. I figured this one would not be. Another friend did a makeup class with some of the older kids and found it to be a bad experience. Let’s face it, 2.5 year olds are pretty open to suggestion, so if the older kids aren’t acting right it’s going to be a fight to get the 2.5 year old to do the right thing too.

Cady can also be a bit squirmy, so she definitely doesn’t need any encouragement from older kids. And I was curious how she would do in a class with all new girls.

Why do I ever worry about this stuff? This kid is so stinkin’ adaptable. She kept up with the older girls (some as old as 4!) like a little dance pro.

It may be just that she is getting used to the routine of dance and she now knows what Miss Bri expects. And one thing I can say about her is that she wants to please. But she really did such a fabulous job today.

Class even went a little long today and Cady stayed with it and did her best. Cady Cupcake, I am so proud of you. You are my Prima Ballerina!

31 Weeks

And for comparison, 31 weeks with Cady:

How Far Along: 31 weeks. We are less than 9 weeks away from meeting the newest member of our family. That’s less than 63 days! Whoa!

Size of baby: About 4 lbs and 16.2 inches. About the size of 4 navel oranges

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Probably around +25 lbs

Maternity Clothes: My maternity stuff is definitely fitting better and better. I can’t believe I made it this long without needing it

Gender: Still a girl

Movement: She is squirmy. I’m pretty sure she has turned head down. I will spare you the details, but she is doing some interesting stuff in there. Some of it not at all pleasant.

What I miss: Nothing at all

Sleep: Sleep this week has been a little tougher. I’ve been waking up fairly often around 3-4. Jason gets up at 4:30 to work out so most of the time I just stay up with him and then go back to bed after he leaves until Cady gets up.
Symptoms: Crazy reflux, it’s a bit difficult to breath, and I have to pee. A lot. LOL
Cravings: Chocolate milk

Best Moment this week: I went to some garage sales this weekend and found some really cute things and great deals. I haven’t gotten to buy a whole lot this time around so it’s all really fun

What I am looking forward to: I have a sonogram at my next Dr appt. I can’t wait to see her again. We never got one so late with Cady, so it’s going to be so cool to see how she looks this far along.

Sick Day

This weekend Cady came down with a little cold. There has been snot, coughing, and even a little puking. I’m pretty sure she is on the mend but her cough still sounds awfully rough. So today we are home bound. Cady was pretty upset with me when I told her no dance class. Hopefully, we an get her well enough to make it to a class later in the week.

So what does a busy-not-so-sick little girl do on a sick day?

She makes mom some Halloween art to hang up

And dress up like a princess, of course.

Yes, that is her flowergirl dress and I’m not sure I’m ever going to be able to get it off her. She now claims she needs princess shoes.

Top Chef

Yesterday, although it was my birthday, I did a lot of work. I prepared 3 dinners in one day. Don’t get me wrong, I had some me time. But I prepared a lasagna for my dear friends who had a baby last week and took it to them that morning. Then this evening I prepared chicken manicotti. I made a double batch. One went in the oven for us to eat for dinner, and one went into the freezer. As I am getting more and more tired, cooking dinner is becoming much more of a chore I don’t want to do. So I am trying to building up some freezer stock.

Needless to say, Cady saw me in the kitchen a lot yesterday. I don’t normally wear my apron while cooking (just baking) but yesterday I felt kinda cute and didn’t want to risk my dress. Let me say that a 3o week pregnant lady in an apron is kinda comical. Cady thought it looked just about like the funnest thing ever. So she asked me to let her put an “ape on” (LOL!). She has a little apron I keep around her kitchen set normally, but for some reason it was MIA. I remembered that when she was probably 3 months old, I found a cupcake apron/chef set at Cracker Barrel. It was for a 5 year old, but it was on clearance and I couldn’t pass it up.I knew it would be well used down the road. I pulled that out of the closet and hooked her right up with her “ape on” Hat and all!

She rushed away to get started cooking and didn’t even have time to pose for any pictures.

She is possibly the next Paula Deen. She was quite descriptive in telling me exactly what she was doing the whole time. There is a cooking show in this kid’s future.

She kept her “ape on” for quite a while, but eventually shed it soon after I took mine off. But as soon as Daddy came home she had to show him what treasure we had found at the back of the closet.

I look forward to the day that she is cooking ME dinner.
