Happy 13 Months Sweets McGhee!
Cady at 13 Months:
I don’t have any official measurements since we haven’t been to the doctor in the past month, but I do know that she has hit a growth spurt. I know this because things that have been out of reach are now within her grasp. She definitely takes full advantage of this.
She is on a really great schedule right now. She wakes up between 7:30 and 8 am. She eats breakfast. We play and laugh and learn. Around 10 we usually have quiet time. That consists of reading or watching one of her Olivia cartoons on the DVR. Between 11:30 and 12 we have lunch and then play for another hour or so. She goes down for her nap at 1 pm. She wakes up around 3 pm and has a snack. We play some more until Daddy gets home between 4 and 5 pm. We eat dinner around 5:30 or 6. More playing until bedtime. The bedtime routine starts between 7 and 7:30 depending on her mood.
Its so nice to have a really predictable routine. She is definitely like her mother in that she is a creature of habit.
Speaking of food, she is eating pretty much everything now. She still only has 8 little chompers and no molars at all. Every once in awhile she will have a Gerber Graduate meal because they are so easy for on the go. Otherwise, she eats exactly what we eat. She is also the leftovers clean up crew. We also order her her first kids meal at a restaurant this weekend. She had a chicken tender and steamed broccoli at Applebee’s on Friday.
She is really starting to communicate and respond to us when we communicate. She asks what everything is. “Dah!” and a point means “What is that?” She responds reasonably well to commands. Last week, I saw that she had taken her socks off. I asked her where they were, and she pointed toward the entryway and said, “Dah.” (in this case, “Dah” meant There). So, I asked her to go get them and bring them to me so I could put them back on her. She headed that direction. I’m almost certain she would have brought me the socks, but she got distracted by the overhead light.
Its so amazing to see her learn new things every day and to see what a neat little person she is becoming!
