I can’t find my camera cord. Fun, new, and exciting pictures are all trapped inside my camera. Sorry.

Happy 12 Months Cady Cupcake!
Cady at 12 months:
She is 30 inches tall (slightly above average) and 19 pounds and 12 ounces (slightly below average). She only gained 12 ounces from her 9 month appointment. Her doctor said that was totally normal, especially since she started walking in that time period. He figures she will hit a good spurt of weight gain within the next 3 months.
She loves to dance. She has developed so many new moves. You’ve seen “the bounce” in videos before. Now she has added “the twist” and “the twirl” to her repoitiere. She is working on “the rock” as well. I’m working on getting these on video.
She will dance to anything. Her music. My music. Music on commercials and tv shows. She even danced to the Wii Fit last night. Jason was doing something on the Wii Fit and it was transitioning between things. It has this little computer voice that says, “Measuring. Measuring.” She sure enough danced to that. Apparently, she can find a good beat in just about anything.
She is still calling me “Bah!” or sometimes “Dada.” I will say that she is unbelievably consisitent with it, if nothing else.
She is a huge help around the house. She loves to close things. She will close the dishwasher for me. She closes the dryer for me. She also closes doors. Sometimes that doesn’t work out too well because we end up on opposite sides.
This past year with her has been amazing and I can’t wait to see what the next year holds!
We had Cady’s birthday party of Valentine’s Day back home in the Ark. We kept it pretty low key. Just immeadiate family and close friends. It turned out perfectly.
I like to pretend I am crafty, so I made a sign to hang.
I was rather impressed with how it turned out.
If you can’t tell, the theme of the party was cupcakes. So we had an awesome local bakery make cupcakes.
Once again, they turned out even better than I could have hoped. (I also made the cupcake tower. Maybe I am crafty after all.)
The Birthday Girl arrived with her Nana and took some time out to get a picture with Mommy and Daddy.
She then spotted her balloons.
She was way into the balloons.
Her BFF, Paxtin, also got in on a little of that balloon action.
Cady is an unbelievably blessed little girl, and got so many great things.
I asked anyone who asked to get her books, so her library is definitely increased in size. You can never have too many books
I think she (and Mom and Dad, too) was still a little a little overwhelmed with the generosity of our friends and family. Like I said she is a blessed little girl
After gifts it was time for her cupcake. We sang “Happy Birthday”
And then we let her at it
She was a little timid at first, but she ended up diving in.
I did hear some disappointment that she didn’t get messier, but I think she enjoyed herself. What do you think?
Like I said earlier, the party was a huge success. I think all our guests had a good time and I really think Cady had a great time.
12 months coming soon…..
I said I was feeling sentimental. So I was looking back at some of our pictures over the last year. I’ve picked out some of my favorites
Be prepared for a couple more strolls down memory lane with me in the next few days. Its my way of coping with her turning One.
Was my due date. I was sitting around feeling sorry for myself because I was so pregnant and so uncomfortable and I just wanted to have my baby here.
Can you tell I’m getting a little sentimental?
Cady’s Poppa got her a little red wagon for Christmas. The weather has been iffy since we got it in. We had some amazing weather this week so we wanted to take advantage of it and take a wagon ride.
This was the third or fourth time we have used the wagon. The first time was hilarious. She squealed and yelled. She also waved like Miss America in a parade. She was waving to no one.
She was a bit more low key this time, but she still had a great time.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure she had a good time. What do you think?
Some of you saw a little bit of this while we were home for Christmas. She would get it started, but the big finale was not something she was ready to share with the world just yet.
She now has it perfected and is ready to unveil the whole thing
I have no excuse for not posting last week other than I am lazy and we didn’t do much. However, we did A LOT this weekend and thats why I didn’t post until now.
Our good friends entered a local BBQ competition. Jason helped out Friday and Saturday night, so Cady and I joined him and our friends as much as possible.
The weather was fairly nice if a little chilly. Cady loved getting to spend all weekend outside.
Here she is with our friend, Lisa. They are too cute together!
I also have to say that we make a pretty cute little family
Saturday was when the real cooking began. Let me tell you. I cannot even come close to doing justice to the taste of this food. These guys are talented at what they do.And the competition was pretty stiff. There were something like 130 teams competing.
Throwin’ Smoke (our team) came in FIRST PLACE in the Open Category. They make pulled pork (unfortunately I didn’t even try any of it).
They also came in 13th for their brisket. They cooked chicken and ribs as well. And just because they didn’t come in the top 20 for those does not mean that they were not delicious. They were amazing. The ribs especially.
Cady and I were there most of the day, but we did come home around noon so she could eat lunch and have her nap.
I put her down in her crib and she wasn’t quite ready to sleep, so she was just playing quietly for a little while. Thats no big deal. She eventually lays down and naps.
I didn’t hear her after a while, so I figured she was asleep and went in to check on her. The smell that met me as I opened the door was unbelievable. And not in a good way.
Apparently, she had pooped and gotten her hand in her diaper (she was in just a onesie) and it. was. Everywhere. The walls. Her Crib. The sheets. Her hair. EVERY WHERE!
But she was asleep, and if there is one thing I know about this child is that she needs her nap. So she slept. In poop.
And no, I got not pictures. I have a pretty strong stomach for these things, but I was gagging the whole time. So no pictures of the infamous Poop-splosion.
After all that, we still had a Super Bowl party to host for our friends. I worked really hard all week to get the house ready and to get the food ready. Turned out good, right?
Jason also did a big seafood boil for the first time. It also turned out really, really well. We ate good and are still eating good today.
We were rooting for the Cardinals to win last night. But Cady and her Daddy were still representing their team even though they weren’t in the game.
I love those two!
This week we don’t have much planned. Its supposed to be pretty nice so we are hoping to spend some time outside. I’m sure we will take a wagon ride or two. Dad, I’ll make sure to get some pictures of Miss America waving to all her admirers for you!
